Recast of the RoHS Directive: Today and in the future no restrictions for PVC in electro- and electronic appliances

On 24 November 2010 the European Parliament voted on the revision of the directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS). Basis was the agreement reached previously with the EU Commission and the Council of Ministers. The PVC manufacturer Vinnolit welcomes the fact that no restrictions on the use of PVC were decided in the process. PVC will remain an important material in the electro- / electronics sector in the future, as well as in all current applications.  more »

Product innovation at Vinnolit: Improved PVC processing due to the new premium extender Vinnolit EXT and the impact modifier K 725 F

With the new premium extender Vinnolit EXT, the PVC manufacturer Vinnolit has developed a new generation of homopolymeric extender resins for PVC plastisol applications. Due to a new polymerization technology, Vinnolit EXT achieves a much stronger viscosity-reducing effect on the plastisol than conventional extender resins. Vinnolit K 725 F, an additive for thermoplastic PVC processing, was developed specifically for the prevention of crease-whitening.  more »

Vinnolit consistently continues its climb out of the economic crisis

The economic development raises cautious optimism for 2010. After the significant decline in sales in 2009, which were caused by the international financial and economic crisis, a slightly increasing PVC demand is observed again, albeit with moderate dynamics. Despite the crisis, Vinnolit invested more than 45 million euros in 2009, particularly in the conversion of the electrolysis into the energy-saving membrane technology.  more »
