Dr Michael Winhold appointed to the Management Board of Vintron

Dr Michael Winhold (47) was appointed to the Board of Directors of Vintron GmbH in Knapsack, effective from 01. January 2003. Dr Winhold, a graduate engineer, formerly Head of the Technical Department and deputy of the managing director, was largely responsible for extensions to the chlorine and vinyl chloride production capacities. Vintron, together with Vinnolit Monomers Division ensure the supply of raw material to the leading German PVC manufacturer, Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG. In April 2002 a new vinyl chloride plant in Knapsack was inaugurated. These investments, totalling 130 m Euro, were made possible by the acquisition of Vinnolit and Vintron by Advent International, a leading private equity firm advising institutional funds. The managing directors of Vintron are Dr Hermann Berwe and Dr Michael Winhold.

Vintron, a 100 % subsidiary of Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG, employs around 270 staff with a turnover of €191million (2001) and is based in Hürth-Knapsack near Cologne. The company produces various raw materials, which are required in the chemical industry as well as in other branches.
