Product innovation at Vinnolit: Improved PVC processing due to the new premium extender Vinnolit EXT and the impact modifier K 725 F

For customers Vinnolit EXT offers significant advantages: It requires lower amounts of viscosity modifiers and plasticizers in the formulation. “The migration of plasticisers and the release of volatile organic compounds (VOC) can be significantly reduced that way, too”, Commercial Director Dr Wolfram Proessdorf explains the environmental benefits of the new premium extender. Besides, Vinnolit EXT offers cost advantages, since it allows higher filler content and higher line speeds. “Overall, the new extender gives all converters in the plastisol field more flexibility and additional options in formulation design”, says
Dr Proessdorf. "Hence we offer a solution for some important challenges in plastisol processing." Vinnolit EXT will be available in early 2011.

The acrylic impact modifier Vinnolit K 725 F prevents the formation of white discoloration in areas of high mechanical stress, so-called crease-whitening. The additive is suitable for producing impact modified, coloured or opaque films, sheets and technical profiles. "For customers, our innovative impact modifier offers an unprecedented combination of properties in PVC processing," explains Dr Proessdorf. "PVC products impact modified with Vinnolit K 725 F PVC are ideal for exterior and interior applications."

Vinnolit will present both product innovations at the K 2010, the International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber from 27 October to 3 November 2010 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
