Vinnolit Sets Up a Technology Company

Within the framework of an enterprise realignment, Vinnolit Kunststoff GmbH, Ismaning, founded Vinnolit Technologie GmbH & Co. KG at the end of 1998. The company is headquartered at Ismaning near Munich.

A subsidiary owned entirely by Vinnolit, the mission of the company is to develop and market the licensing operations of Vinnolit worldwide in cooperation with the engineering company Krupp Uhde. It also focuses on continued development of production processes for suspension polyvinyl chloride (S-PVC) and the PVC pre-products 1,2 dichloroethane (EDC) and vinyl chloride (VC).

Under the management of Dr. Ingolf Mielke, the operations of Vinnolit Technologie GmbH & Co. KG are controlled and coordinated from the Vinnolit production site Gendorf. With 1,350 employees, a PVC capacity of some 570 00 0 t/year and four production sites at Burghausen, Gendorf, Knapsack and Cologne, Vinnolit Kunststoff GmbH is the leading PVC manufacturer in Germany. In conjunction with Vinnolit Monomer GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary owned in full by Vinnolit, the company has an annual capacity of 190,000 t of vinyl chloride (VC) and 70,000 t of chlorine, which is currently being enlarged to 285,000 t (VC) and 80,000 t (chlorine). In 1998, the Vinnolit Group's revenues totaled approximately 1 billion DM.
